Rite of the Reef || Event Overview
Posted 1 month ago :: Last edited 1 week ago by spectralswanRite of the Reef
[Bay Festival] Event Duration: 6/1/25 - 6/30/25
The arrival of Bay Season brings with it a tradition of profound cultural significance: The Rite of the Reef. Generations ago, when Faia was smothered by wither, the Lightkeepers brought warmth and life back to the Realm, one island at a time. The Rite honors these efforts, celebrating light and uniting Faians together in shared purpose.
The Rite of the Reef occurs annually in Lylluna Reef, an island that has long since been considered the heart of Faia. Each night of the Rite, Faians gather on Lylluna's outer beaches and release their lanterns to the ocean. In this unified act, Faians from around the Realm create a tangible connection to their shared purpose, the floating lanterns not only symbolizing their achievements thus far, but each Faian's continued commitment to the Lightkeeper cause.

The Flora of Faia || Worldbuilding Event
Posted 2 months ago :: Last edited 1 month ago by spectralswanThe Flora of Faia
Event Duration: 5/1/25 - 5/31/25
worldbuilding events
Worldbuilding events are a way to incorporate the entire community into the worldbuilding process, allowing players to contribute their own ideas and possible have them become canon! Events can be held on their own, or in conjunction with annual events. All entries are judged based on creativity,
The flora of faia
This event focuses on designing flora (plants) for all of the different islands of Faia! Each time this event is run, different islands are chosen. Participants will then design native flora specifically for those islands, based on the established information about their terrain, climate, and the map/concept artwork.
The Flora of Faia is a repeating worldbuilding event.
───────── ౨ৎ ─────────
How to participate
Step 1. islands and info
EVENT PROMPT: Design flora (a plant) that is native to any one of the islands below.
This event's selected islands are: Lylluna Reef, Zamna, and Orevein.
You may submit as many entries as you'd like, and there is no limit on how many entries you can submit for a single island. The term 'flora' encompasses any plant including fungi: so trees, flowers, shrubbery, mushrooms, mosses, weeds, grass, completely fantastical and made-up plants... anything is on the table!
Step 2. design flora
ENTRIES ARE JUDGED BASED ON: (1) creativity of the visual design, (2) cohesiveness with the design and environment of the home island, and (3) creativity of the information (name, properties if any, uses if any, blurb if any).
REFERENCES FOR DESIGNING: It is important to familiarize yourself with the environment and design of the home island before designing flora for that island! Environment-wise, information for each island can be found in their World Expanded pages (linked above). Design-wise, the best drawn reference is the map artwork, but additional references include the pixel icon and concept-art banner (found in the island's World Expanded page, not available for every island).
With all that information in mind, it's time to get designing! Here are the 2 criteria for submitting an entry explained.
1. Digitally Drawn Reference: The reference only needs to show the plant at its fully-grown stage! However, showing the growth cycle can contribute to the creativity factor of your entry. The reference should be flat colored and ideally on a transparent background.
2. A Plant Name: Time to name your plant! The name does not need to sound super fancy and scientific. For reference, here are some names of flora I have designed and plan to add into the world: "Moonbeam Blossom" "Miracle Ambrosia" "Pixie Cup"
3. OPTIONAL Aspects: These aspects of your entry are completely optional, but can make your design more interesting! Generally, the more specific the better. Optional aspects include (1) the plant's practical uses (ex. used in medicine, the flower's nectar is used for alchemy), (2) any unique properties (ex. always facing the direction of the sun, dies when watered... again, completely optional as not every single plant has to be super magical), and (3) a description, any miscellaneous information or even lore! (ex. some sort of cultural tradition involving the plant)
Step 3. Submit your entry
Now that your plant has been drawn and prepared, it's time to actually submit your entry!
Entries should be submitted to this gallery. One entry per gallery post (if you designed multiple plants, make a separate gallery post for each). In the description, fill out this form:
Plant Name:
Home Island (Lylluna/Zamna/Orevein):
Practical uses (N/A if none):
Unique properties (N/A if none):
Blurb/lore (N/A if none):
Once everything is all filled out, submit the gallery post! You have participated in the event, congratulations! Again, there is no limit on how many entries you can make and how many entries an win in total (but as always, quality & creativity > quantity...)
⋆。°✩
Prizes
Winners will be announced and receive their prizes ~ a week after the event ends! The winning entries will then be made official and added to the World Expanded in July. For this event, entries are judged based on the following creativity (visual design + information) and cohesiveness with the home island.
Participation prizes
All participants are automatically entered into a raffle upon entering! Prizes (1 random prize per winner, 2 winners): Bush Viper Potion x1, Croket Carrier x1.
Winners' prizes
All winning entries (entries that are chosen to be made canon) will be ranked, and based on that ranking, the creators will get an ordered pick from the prize pool below. Each person can win a maximum of 3 prizes; in the case of a person having more than 3 winning entries, their picking order will be based on their 3 highest ranked entries, and any additional winning entries will reward 300 wisps each!
Prize Pool: Bush Viper TR-111, Unusual Tortuvina MYO x1, Bloom Palette x1 (3 picks available), Thunderstrike Potion x1, Sea Dragon Potion x1, Mushbun Carrier x1, [TR] Bottled Mist x1, Kelp Coins x4 (unlimited picks available).

Cometfall || Event Overview
Posted 3 months ago :: Last edited 1 month ago by spectralswanCOMETFALl
Event Duration: 4/1/25 - 4/30/25
It is time to witness a celestial phenomenon…
During the month of Cometfall, a relentless cascade of comets rains down upon the Realm, illuminating the sky with streaks of celestial brilliance. Today, Cometfall is widely celebrated by Faians across the Realm— but it wasn’t always this way.
When the annual comet showers first began, they were met with dread. Faians saw the phenomenon as a disruptive force; a hindrance to their continued development and duty as Lightkeepers. While most comets were small and relatively harmless, an occasional mammoth comet would plunge into a village, leaving destruction in its wake. Builders were always in high demand, and fear kept most Faians confined to indoors.
However, from adversity comes innovation. Faced with such a prominent annual setback, the Archmages of the Mage’s Academy turned to their magic for solutions. They focused their efforts on adapting the combat shield spell, hoping they could increase its scope to shield entire villages. After months of experimentation, they finally discovered the key to performing large-scale spells, and with this newfound knowledge, developed the shielded dome spell.
In the following Cometfall, the four Archmages traveled from settlement to settlement, erecting protective domes and seeking out local mages. To these mages, they taught not only the process of performing the shielded dome spell, but also the light spell, an enchantment that has since become vital in keeping the wither at bay across the Realm.
With the weight of fear lifted, Faians resumed normal activity during Cometfall. Gazing skyward, they looked past the threat and saw streaks of shimmering light, finally able to appreciate the phenomenon for its beauty. Gradually, attitudes towards Cometfall began to change, as Faians began to realize the unexpected benefits of the comet showers. In addition to the alchemic potential in the fallen comet shards, there was simply no way to put into words the feeling one experienced when watching starlit comets illuminate the night sky.
Sowara, a city formerly reduced to rubble by repeated comet impacts, was the first to hold a celebration when the yearly Cometfall began. Other settlements soon followed suit, embracing the once-dreaded event. Within a decade of the first erection of the shielded dome spell, Cometfall transformed into a Realm-wide celebration. More than just a display of splendor, Cometfall became a symbol of Faian resilience, growth, and a testament to their ability to turn fear into wonder.
Cometfall has begun, and Astra has powered up the Comet Catcher once again! Each Cometfall, Astra travels from settlement to settlement in her airship, the Comet Catcher, giving Faians across the Realm a chance to enjoy the splendor of the comet showers up close from the skies. To earn a ticket, Faians must help their community in some way and report to the Comet Catcher ticket booth, run by Lumina. Time to admire some comets and lend a helping hand!

A flight on the Comet Catcher is an opportunity you cannot pass up! With performing good deeds being the only way to earn a ticket, it's time to wish upon a falling comet and get gifting...
Welcome!
Welcome to community wish granting! In this activity, you earn points by granting other players' wishes. The top three gifters will each earn a prize (info below)! This activity ends with the Cometfall event. To participate, please follow the steps below!

Each wish can only contain ONE item from that difficulty's corresponding list, and the item should be a specific item ("arcane affinity fragment", NOT "any affinity fragment). Please make sure to clearly label the difficulty level of each wish, and note that you cannot make edits to your list later on!
- Easy wishes may include: variant swap, rare trait spell, unusual trait spell, daily explore crafting material, daily explore loot crate, paint bottle, figurine

Easy #2: Carnation paint bottle
Medium #1: Small art of [character ML link]
Hard #1: Borbo pet/carrier
Hard #2: Armored scorpion potion
Hard #3: A fullbody of [character ML link]
Step 2. GRANT wishes
It's time to get gifting! Each time you fulfill a wish (send the item or pet directly via inventory transfer), reply to the original wishlist comment specifying exactly which wish you fulfilled. Please make a separate reply for each individual wish, if fulfilling multiple for the same user. Easy wishes are worth 1 point, medium wishes are worth 2.5 points, and hard wishes are worth 4 points. Points will be counted up at the end of the event!
Each individual wish can only be fulfilled ONCE, so make sure to check if someone else has already fulfilled it and commented. The only exception is art/writing wishes, which can be fulfilled multiple times. If your fulfilled wish is artwork or writing, please link to a gallery post in your reply, and note that it cannot be submitted as prompt work.
Step 3. FINAL PRIZES
At the end of the event, the top three point earners can choose a prize from the following prize pool, with first place getting first choice, second place getting second choice, and third place getting third choice. Winners will be contacted via a reply to their wishlist comment.

Bloom Festival || Event Overview
Posted 3 months ago :: Last edited 1 month ago by spectralswanBloom Festival
Event Duration: 3/1/25 - 3/31/25
After a long season of hardship, the arrival of Bloom Season is widely celebrated across the Realm. During the annual Bloom Festival, Faians express their gratitude towards the land and the resources it provides through various seasonally-themed activities, many of which involve helping others. Each village holds their Festival separately with different traditions, but there are several universal Festival activities, such as the communal garden and balloon rides.
In many villages, it is common to to send and receive gift baskets full of native plant seeds (after making sure they won't become invasive in their new environment...), in order for each island's residents to truly appreciate the diversity of Faian flora. Faian fauna plays a large role in the Festival as well, as Faians go to great lengths to ensure the local wildlife continues to thrive after Frost Season. All in all, the Bloom Festival can look very different depending on each village and island, but regardless, it is a time for Faians across the Realm to come together and appreciate the bounty of their lands.

The Serpent's Glade
Posted 4 months ago :: Last edited 1 month ago by spectralswanThe Serpent's Glade
[ a mini storyline ]
Lore Introduction: Opiuchus
For context, read the Legend of the Serpent's Glade first!
. . .
You push yourself to your feet. Your head is reeling from a fall you don’t remember. Through the fog, you barely manage to make out a small, flickering light. Not knowing what else to do, you begin clawing your way towards it.
The ground begins to slope upwards, and you fall down again; or was this your first fall? Exhausted, you search your mind for explanation, but your mind is blank. What is this place? What is this feeling? Did you somehow… die? No, it can’t be. I am alive.
The light bobbles slightly, as if encouraging you. You pick yourself up and focus on your feet, closing the distance step by step. The fog begins to clear, and you can now see a tall, hooded Candle Noodle standing at the top of the hill before you, holding a lantern in one paw. The Candle Noodle sets the lantern down and extends a paw to you, helping you climb up the last few steps. She smiles, somewhat condescendingly, and knocks on a stone wall- no, not a wall- she knocks on a round, stone gate behind her.
“Do you know where we are?”
You shake your head, still gasping to catch your breath.
“This is the Great Gate of Zamna, but we call it by another name. Are you familiar with the legend of the Serpent’s Glade?”
This time you nod. The lost Gate, the Immortal Serpent- the legend has always intrigued you. Your mind begins to clear, and you feel the Candle Noodle’s eyes on you, cool and calculating. From her satchel, she produces four square-shaped runestones. She motions with her tail, and your eyes fall back to the gate, where there are four square-shaped indents. The pieces begin to click in your head… four keys to open a Gate- is this the Gate to the Serpent’s Glade?
“The Serpent’s Glade is a wondrous place, filled with secrets and treasures. We would like to share these treasures, but only with the worthy. You must prove your dedication to the Glade before you join us.”
You listen intently, waiting for some kind of catch. You detect none, but you remain dubious. “What do you need me to do?”
“I’m glad you asked. I am something of a collector, and I believe completing a collection is something that takes true dedication. If you’re up for the challenge, find me at Festivals. For each Festival, I’ll scatter 13 figurines across the island. Once you have collected them all, I’ll give you one of these.”
She tosses a runestone into the air, catching and shuffling it with the rest absentmindedly.
“Four runestones will open the gate…and you know where to find me then. I'll see you soon."
She smirks, then turns towards the Gate. The Gate slides open in response, revealing a dreamy, sunlit meadow. The wind blows her hood to the side, and you catch a glimpse of a crimson, slitted eye…almost snakelike. She looks away, then disappears.
. . .
You wake up in a cold sweat, gasping for air. Was it really just a dream? But all dreams have meaning. You’ll find out soon enough anyways; a Festival is on the horizon.
Overview
The Serpent’s Glade is a mini storyline of the ARPG, and a little something extra to work towards during seasonal events! Unlocking the Glade will require completing four collections of figurines, one for each seasonal event (Bloom Festival, Rite of the Reef/Bay Festival, Harvest Festival, Frost Festival), so definitely a bit of a long term endeavor.
Upon collecting all four runestones, you will unlock access to a shop, where you’ll find: quests, serpent trait items, exclusive critters, possibly Glade loot crates, and most importantly: something to do with baby Faians and imortal forms...
