Location of the month bonus

Location of the Month is a new artwork bonus, designed to encourage worldbuilding and exploration! Each month, a new location will be announced in the newsletter, and players can earn a 20 wisp bonus for drawing scenes in that location. This bonus is eligible for any prompt (including Kelp Coin and General Artwork), as long as the artwork meets a background bonus (simple or complex).

Light items

You may have noticed these mysterious new items in your inventory: the Table Lamp, Explorer's Light, Wooden Torch, and Small Candle! These items have officially replaced the previous Junk Items, and they will come in handy for certain upcoming events...

Updates

Hello 2026!

It is officially 2026, meaning it has officially been 1 year since LK Launch!! This honestly makes me so emotional (if you want to read my huge ramble it's in the spoiler below dshgfdg). This year has felt so short, yet at the same time so long because of everything we've done together. Without further ado, let's take a walk down memory lane!

Here's a recap of 2025!

In January, we officially opened up LK and celebrated with a huge Anniversary MYO event!

In February, the Serpent's Glade was introduced, and Frost seasonal pets released!

In March, you began your Runestone-collecting journey with the Bloom Festival, coinciding with the release of the first seasonal site theme!

In April, we had some big releases: Skill prompts, Bulletin Board prompts, and the full map of Faia!

In May, we hosted the first Community Worldbuilding Contest, and even amidst the horrid annual exam season, you guys designed some amazing plants!

In June, new pets and traits arrived with Bay Season and the Rite of the Reef!

In July, we held an Artfight adjacent event, and your plant designs from May's Flora of Faia event were made official!

In August, we had some major lore releases: Guilds, new chapters on magic, and worldbuilding for sky islands!

In September, we enjoyed a month full of cozy fall vibes with the first ever Harvest Festival!

In October, the entire site was overhauled with new colors, artwork, and BABIES!

In November, we hosted a simple Discord Emote Contest! (the emotes are amazing)

And last but certainly not least, in December, the Serpent's Glade finally released after almost a year of Runestone-collecting!

Frost Festival

Event Duration: 12/1/25 - 12/31/25

Frost Season casts a deep chill across the Realm, blanketing the land in ice and snow. As resources grow scarce and temperatures begin to plummet, Faians counter the season’s hardship by celebrating the Frost Festival, an event centered around the unbreakable bonds of community. Held universally in virtually every settlement, the Frost Festival gives Faians across the Realm a reason to look forward to the season.

During the Festival, each settlement maintains an indoor open hearth location. Seeking refuge from the cold, communities gather at these locations to relax and engage in shared activities like mending, knitting, and storytelling. Additionally, gifting becomes a core tradition throughout the month, as neighbors make a point of supporting each other. When a Faian bakes a fresh loaf of pastry or chops extra firewood, it is common to share a portion with those nearby. Indeed, in addition to celebration, the traditions of the Frost Festival ensure that every Faian is looked after by their community until the eventual Bloom Season thaw.

There are a total of 13 collectibles in the Frost Festival Figurines collection, which can be obtained at random from Frost Festival Figurine Boxes. These Boxes are a bonus reward that drop for every event prompt, and are also available in both the Event Shop and Ko-Fi Shop.

Once you have completed the collection, claim your Zephyr Runestone from the collection page! This Runestone, combined with the three other Runestones from other seasonal events, will grant access to the Serpent's Glade and its contents. More information on the mini-storyline can be found in the Introduction post.

The Serpent's Glade

The Serpent's Glade is finally here... and for those of you who have been collecting runestones since the Bloom Festival, you're in the homestretch! The current Frost Festival marks the final seasonal festival of this year, as well as a full year of events run (wooooo!)

Upon collecting all four Runestones, you will unlock lore and receive the Glade Portal. Keeping this item in your inventory grants entrance into the Serpent's Glade, where you'll have access to bonus content such as Glade-exclusive pets, traits, exploration, magic, lore, and more... I'll keep the details a surprise for you to find out yourself!

New Suptypes

Three new Ruptour subtypes have arrived in Faia: Mamba, Kitsune, and Aurora Griffon! Mamba items are obtainable from within the Serpent's Glade, while both Kitsune and Aurora Griffon (Frost Festival only) items can be purchased on Ko-Fi~

New ART

Pretty much all potions and charms have been reworked in the new art style! You should now be able to easily distinguish the species a potion is applicable to based on its bottle shape!

1) An update has been made to the ARPG ToS, II. Game Submissions: "Alternate forms for characters are allowed, but they are considered non-canon. Alternate forms can only be submitted for wisps in General Artwork or General Writing."

2) You can now assign settlements to be your characters' homes! Go to your character's profile, select "EDIT PROFILE," and under the Location field there will be a drop down menu for you to choose from.

3) Winners for the Discord Emote Contest have already been announced in the Discord Server! So many fun new emotes to use!!

4) The Ko-Fi shop has restocked to contain all new Frost Seasonal and event items (as well as the new Kitsune subtype items)!

HARVEST Festival

Event Duration: 9/1/25 - 9/30/25

The Harvest Festival is one of the most beloved celebrations of the year, focusing on gratitude for a bountiful harvest and, of course, delicious food. This annual event brings together Faians from all corners of the Realm to Arkala City, now one of Faia's most prominent cities. As Faians arrive, they are accompanied by airships carrying the local harvests of their home islands... soon to be made into mouthwatering recipes.

Upon the first arrivals, Arkala City practically transforms into a bustling open-air kitchen. Cooking stations can be found all around the plazas and streets, as Faians from each island prepare their signature dishes for the night’s grand feast. Indeed, these feasts are the main attraction of the Festival, held at dinnertime on weekends throughout the month. From hearty stews to bizarre-looking vegetables, these gatherings offer Faians the opportunity to not only appreciate authentic recipes from around the Realm, but also to befriend the unique Faians that they meet while sharing a meal.

a new art style...

As you may have noticed, there is quite a lot of new art around the site! Eventually, all ARPG assets will be redone in this style for the aesthetic overhaul, which is scheduled for November.

The overhaul will include: new default site themes, a new site icon/meta tag, new user role colors, new trait rarity colors, and new artwork everywhere! I hope that this overhaul will give the ARPG more of a fantasy-RPG feeling, and better reflect Faia's main lore of light vs. wither through the new color palette (wink wink purple)...

Below are some notable changes to item artwork you should be aware of!

• Potions now come in 4 different base-shapes (as shown above) to easier distinguish which species they are applicable to. Note that not all potion artwork has been redone yet, apologies for the temporary confusion!
• Paint Bottles are now Paint Swatches.
• Pet Carriers are now drawn as cardboard boxes.

It is music that brings us all together...

The Eeriels' Ballade has finally begun! Faians from all around the Realm gather on the coasts of Lylluna, waiting for transportation into the underwater city of Yfalos. Indeed, Yfalos' residents are hard at work preparing air bubbles, water breathing potions, accomodations for both Faians and Eeriels, and the music itself. They could use a hand!

🐳 Teeny tiny dancers 🐳

This year, Yfalos has decided to incorporate pets into the Eeriels' Ballade... as dancers! The only problem is: most pets are not used to being around many strangers at once, especially in such an unfamiliar setting. To remedy this, Nerissa asks that Faians introduce their pets to unfamiliar Faians, and allow them to teach their pets dances as well as spend time with them. This way, pets will gradually adjust to being around strangers, while also preparing for the big performance! Let's just hope these pets can keep some dance moves in their noggins...

I see your pets are itching to dance in the Eeriels' Ballade... In this activity, you earn points by drawing your pets with other peoples' characters! The top three point earners (AKA owners of the most highly trained, skilled, world-class-master-of-dancing pets) will each earn a prize (info below)! This activity ends with the Eeriels' Ballade event. To participate, please follow the steps below!

Step 1. REGISTER YOUR PETS

You may register up to 3 pets to participate in this activity! Each pet must be owned by you and attached to a Faian character owned by you. The registered pet/s must stay attached to that character and under your ownership until results are announced.

FOR FTOs: If you do not currently own any Faian characters, you can borrow Nerissa to participate! You may register 1 pet, which you must own yourself, and you don't need to worry about the pet being attached to the character.

Once you have chosen your pet/s, fill out the form below and comment it on this news post!

Step 2. EARNING POINTS

Now that your pets have arrived in Yfalos, it's time for them to mingle with new Faians!

In this activity, you earn points by drawing your pets with other peoples' characters. You can draw any of your own registered pets (1 pet per piece) with any characters posted on other peoples' registration forms (1 character per piece), earning 1 point per piece! Here is a breakdown of that process.

1) CHOOSE: Choose a pet and character to draw together (pet owned by you, character owned by someone else and posted in their registration form).

2) DRAW: Draw them spending time together using any or the EB event prompts, or specifically draw them practicing dance with this year's exclusive prompt: [EB] Teeny Tiny Dancers! Note that in order for the piece to be eligible for points, it MUST be artwork (no writing) and only include the 1 character and 1 pet.

3) SUBMIT: Submit the piece to its prompt normally, AND submit it to this gallery! This is REQUIRED, as points are counted based on gallery submissions.

4) DELIVER: You're almost done! The piece you just drew was basically gift art, so now its time to deliver the gift... on this news post, find the owner of the character you drew, and reply to their (registration form) comment with a gallery link to the piece!

Step 3. FINAL PRIZES

‼️ Points will be counted at the end of the event. You MUST keep your registered pet/s under your ownership and attached to their character/s (unless you're borrowing Nerissa- ignore this part) until results are announced ‼️

At the end of the event, the top three point earners can choose a prize from the following prize pool, with first place getting first choice, second place getting second choice, and third place getting third choice. Winners will be contacted via a reply to their registration comment.

Explore the unique traditions of Faia's Eeriels' Ballade through 6 new event prompts plus a bonus prompt: The Perfect Instrument, A New Melody, Enjoy your Stay, A Feast Fit for an Eeriel, Underwater World, Abstract Music, and Teeny Tiny Dancers! Each prompt awards 150 wisps, or 200 for the Teeny Tiny Dancers activity.

Both art and writing are accepted for submissions. We encourage you to show off your work in the discord server and gallery!
