Growth Cycle: The Heartleaf Moss is an annual plant that grows rapidly during Bay Season and Harvest Season, bearing fruit exclusively in Bay Season. Its seeds drop at the end of the season, ensuring its legacy. It perishes almost immediately with the first snows of Frost Season, unable to tolerate cold weather.
Unique Properties: The Heartleaf Moss will grow on almost any surface, although it prefers rocky slopes and watery locations. It requires an enormous amount of water intake, combined with consistent warmth and sunlight, to survive. It normally takes on a purple color. However, during Harvest Season, its soft, heart-shaped leaves transform into beautiful pink hues, with shades varying depending on the conditions surrounding it. It produces Heartfruits during the height of Bay Season.

Lore and Cultural Significance: It is said that long ago, a lonely Candle Noodle lived in a cottage in Kal all by herself. One day, she fell in love, and sought to express her affections. Possessing great magical power, she created the perfect plant to convey her love: thus, the Heartleaf Moss was born. And what of your lover, you might ask? They hated the moss. Her feelings were rejected, and so she threw the plant out. Even so, the Heartleaf Moss continued to thrive, thriving despite all odds. It is a story of how beautiful, and truly, truly, fickle love can be.
