Affinity Magic

The magic system of Faia, where Faians are able to draw power directly from the Deities’ power pools once a connection is established, essentially borrowing the Deities’ magic.

Affinity Totem

A physical artifact designed to momentarily amplify a Faian’s connection to a certain affinity, used as a jumpstart to activate that affinity.

Arcane Affinity

A magical affinity sourced from the Arcane Deity’s power. Faians with intelligence, wisdom, and wit have the strongest connection to this affinity.

Archmages

The four most powerful and respected mages in Faia, each a master of one of the four Affinities. They lead both the Mage’s Academy and the Sanctum of the Fourfold.

Archways

Eight portals that allowed spirits to travel from Faia to the afterlife realms. They were created by the Deities and guarded by Ruptours during Pre-Lightkeeper Times.

Beast Affinity

A magical affinity sourced from the Beast Deity’s power. Faians with determination, loyalty, and fervor have the strongest connection to this affinity.

Deities

The creators of the universe, its realms, and all life. There are four Deities: the Arcane Deity, Beast Deity, Divine Deity, and Fae Deity.

Divine Affinity

A magical affinity sourced from the Divine Deity’s power. Faians with spirituality, morality, and intuition have the strongest connection to this affinity.

Fabric of Reality

The ‘walls’ that form the physical edges of realms, separating them from the empty void of the universe.

Fae Affinity

A magical affinity sourced from the Fae Deity’s power. Faians with whimsy, pure love, and creativity have the strongest connection to this affinity.

Faia

The realm in which the ARPG and its species reside. Faia was created by the Deities as a place to test prototype ecosystems, resulting in countless scattered sky and ocean islands, each with diverse biomes and life forms.

Keystones

Eight powerful cores that activated the Archways. They were stolen during the Ruptour War, and without them, the Archways can no longer function as portals.

Lightkeeper Cause

The overarching purpose of the Lightkeepers to expand their civilizations and take back withered lands, thus passively weakening the Wither’s influence.

Lightkeepers

The four blessed species that inhabit Faia: Candle Noodles, Lumendras, Tortuvinas, and Ruptours. They are also the ARPG’s playable closed species.

Overworld Realms

Realms on a circular “wheel” where life exists, with Faia as an exception. In fact, Faia was created to prototype the actual realms of life in the Overworld.

Power Pools

The Deities’ physical sources of magic energy. Each Deity has a separate power pool located in the void of the universe.

Pre-Lightkeeper Times

The ancient era in Faia’s history before the arrival of the Lightkeepers and Wither. Characterized by the separated nature of each island and the Ruptours' role as guardians of the Archways.

Ruptour War

An ancient conflict from Pre-Lightkeeper Times between the Ruptour Rebels and Loyalists. This war led to the Sealing and unchecked spread of Wither.

The Immortal Serpent

The first and only immortal creature created by the Deities. Despite its gentle nature, the Deities sealed it away in The Serpent's Glade, fearing its potentially uncontrollable power.

The Sealing

At the height of the Ruptour War and the chaos of the emerging wither, the Deities sealed all Ruptours into amulets, a desperate act to save their species amidst the escalating conflict.

The Serpent's Glade

A secret pocket realm within Faia where The Immortal Serpent was sealed away by the Deities. The Serpent's Gate, its only entrance, has yet to be found.

The Voidling's Well

A small, central realm within the Underworld wheel, where spirits arrive to conclude their afterlife.

Underworld Rhealms

Realms on a circular “wheel” dedicated to the afterlife, existing beneath the Overworld wheel and connected to parallel Overworld realms.

Void

The empty space of the universe outside and between all realms.

Wither

A corrupting force of decay and darkness that overtook Faia after the Ruptour War and prior to the arrival of the Lightkeepers. The ‘antagonist’ of the ARPG.
