The Lightkeeper Council

When the Lightkeepers first arrived in Faia, they looked towards the deities for direct guidance and rule. However, as the deities grew distant, individual settlements were forced to become self-sufficient, leading to the establishment of local governments. But even this localized rule eventually proved insufficient. With Faian territory expanding day by day, the need for inter-island cooperation became apparent, resulting in the formation of the Lightkeeper Council. Today, this Council serves as the primary governing body of Faia’s scattered settlements. Made up of counselors and the four Archmages, the Lightkeeper Council strives to maintain unity and cooperation throughout the Realm.

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Governing Body
PURPOSE: To govern and unite Faia’s scattered settlements in the Lightkeeper Cause.
SYMBOL: An eye with a four-pointed star iris.

PRIMARY LOCATION: The Lightkeeper Council holds its meetings in Woodhaven, honoring it as the first arrival point of the Lightkeepers in Faia.
LEADERSHIP AND HIERARCHY: The Council is made up of one representative from each official Lightkeeper settlement, plus the four Archmages of the Mage’s Academy. Decisions are made through consensus or majority vote, depending on the importance of the decision. All Council members have equal voting power.
MEMBERSHIP: Only elected representatives and the four Archmages are official members of the councils. Other Faians in positions of power, such as Guild leaders, may attend meetings as a counselor's advisor if their expertise is needed. Representatives are re-elected based on their own settlement’s election rules and cycles.

STANDING: The Lightkeeper Council is universally respected and recognized as the highest political authority in Faia. They are vital in establishing order, safety, and unity for Faians across the Realm.
