Adventurer's Guild

The Adventurer’s Guild is the driving force behind Faia’s expansion, managing all exploration of new territories and acting as the primary repository of information of explored islands. However, while publicly striving towards the advancement of the Lightkeeper, the guild secretly engages in corrupt activities… when exploring new islands, they often drain the island of its natural resources for personal profit, and even strategically withhold information to sell. This covert operation, known only to the highest ranking Guild members, grants them significant leverage over the Lightkeeper Council and Faia’s development as a whole. 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Guild
PURPOSE: To explore and expand Lightkeeper territory for settlement.
SYMBOL: A celestial compass.

PRIMARY LOCATION: The Adventurer’s Guild’s headquarters are located in Falconstrike. It also maintains numerous guild outposts, with at least one on each explored island. The most notable of these outposts is located in Eldridia, where they control a massive airship dock.
LEADERSHIP AND HIERARCHY: Publicly, the Adventurer’s Guild is led by a single Guild Master, who is advised by a council of experienced adventurers. However, the true power lies within a secretive inner circle. This secret group of leaders within the Guild not only designs and implements covert operations, but also hides them within the Guild’s standard activities. The Guild Master is the only public-facing leader aware of their existence, turning a blind eye due to the immense profits these activities generate for the Guild.
MEMBERSHIP: Membership is open to any Faian

STANDING: The Adventurer’s Guild is the most powerful and influential guild in Faia. They are praised as the heroes and pioneers who drive Lightkeeper expansion. And while this is certainly true, their corrupt activities may one day come to light and change their image forever…
FUNDING: The Adventurer’s Guild is funded by its membership fees and donations. Covertly: a large source of income also comes from the exploitation of natural resources from newly discovered islands (often laundered with help through the Merchant’s Guild), as well as the sale of withheld information about valuable island resources to other artisan guilds.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Organizing and leading expeditions into uncharted Withered territories.
  • Mapping newly explored islands.
  • Assessing environmental conditions and flora on newly explored islands.
  • Maintaining a public repository of information on all explored islands.
  • Establishing and maintaining Guild outposts around Faia.
  • Preparing training programs, equipment, facilities, and transportation to guild members.
  • Covertly: Identifying and extracting valuable resources from newly explored islands before opening them up for settlement.
  • Covertly: Withholding and selling information about valuable resources on newly explored islands.
  • Covertly: Lying about potential dangers on newly explored islands to delay settlement and continue resource extraction.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Pioneered the exploration and mapping of all settled islands to this day.
  • Established over 100 outposts across the Realm and its islands.
  • Identified Raydes as dangerous, and established a barrier around the island with help from the Sanctum of the Fourfold.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The Adventurer’s Guild was directly established by the deities as a way to emphasize the Lightkeeper cause: spread light and push back the Wither’s influence. However, at some point, its leadership turned corrupt and began prioritizing profit over Faian expansion.
