Pyre's Sharing the Hearth

Pyre watched as she came down from the ladder she was using to see the new faces. She looked at the Deep Sea Noodle that stood besides the Kelpie Noodle bringing out items. Cassie called out to the Kelpie, her name being Naia. Pyre awkwardly smiled, tumbling around with her new form, raising her cascading tail in the process. She looked towards Naia once more and nodded, waving at Naia and her buddy. “Hello!” She waved, smiling at them. She turned to Cassie, her face was a bit contorted from reading the letter, she nervously interrupted.

“Hey Cassie, I’m going out to get more stuff for the decorations. Alright?” Cassie nodded, Pyre left, quickly heading out only to be hit with the sheer chilling wind of the frosty air. Pyre cringed as she felt the cold eat at her bones, she could swear. Pyre whined, turning to Spark, her Chombee, and complained. “Spark... I think we need to find a hearth. I might freeze out here!” She would grab Spark and nestle into him. Trying to get the warmth that Chombee exuded, of course it wasn’t enough to really warm her up.

Spark wasn’t too happy after a while of being held. Pyre would groan and sigh, letting Pyre go. “Okay okay, let’s go, I might freeze over here.” The Candle Noodle shook herself and grumbled. She went along and quickly moved, trying to get out of the shade and into the sun. At the center of town, there was a small heart. Without any hesitation, she scampered towards the flame and sat in front of it. She sighed, rising on her haunches and putting her hands over the flames. She happily sighed, soon huffing into her hands to warm them up.

She would sigh, feeling the warmth bake into her wax and body, soon shaking the sluggish vibe off before turning to Spark. “Alright! Let’s go around, do you have the list I gave you?” Pyre would smile, only for Spark to cough up a puff of smoke. A sigh left her and nodded, “Should’ve known.. Okay! That’s alright! Our minds are bright right?” The Candle Noodle would nod and look around, trotting over to the stand near the hearth.

Pyre would wave at the familiar workers, “Should we stock up for the hibernating process?” She would ask Spark, who would vigorously nod. Of course, Spark loved snacks, he burned through food easily—he was a fiery chombee! This would make her laugh, nodding in the process. “Okay okay, we know you’re excited.” She would move on, looking through the food and grabbing a bunch of material. She already had about two bags, grumbling in the process she murmurs. “Spark, can you get a sled, need you to carry our things.” The chombee would grumble and nod, scampering off to grab a sled. The chombee was well trained and efficient with this and came scooting back to Pyre.

She would laugh and nod, “Oh look at you!” She grinned, fastened the harness and placed the food bags within the sled. “Hmm, what’s next?” Pyre would pull back and think to herself, she pointed her chin on as they moved forth. “Oh! Supplies! We need more lights and blankets. It gets colder and colder each year.” She would shiver, skipping along to a crafts store. There she would buy yarns, blankets, and more holiday supplies. “That’s all we need!” She would look at their items and smile, walking out and past the hearth. Only to be met faced with critters that have gone astray. Pyre would smile at the pets and look at Spark. “Mm, maybe we should feed them. Here you go.” Pyre and Spark would stay for a little longer, feeding the pets around, giving a little more warmth during the frost.
