Flight in the Sky and Deja vu (Crew's All Aboard the Star Catcher)

Talk about teeming excitement! Pyre was practically off her rocker as she hopped around grabbing the last stuff they needed for their brief trip on the Star Catcher! The young Candle noodle can hear their Mentor speaking to the older Faians of the crew. It was a bit muffled to the apprentice, as she spoke the Comet Shard Charm. “We’re going to the Star Catcher today! I think the Doc wants to find Nyx. This is her last chance today.” Pyre gently smiled at the thought of a reunion. She leaned in close, “But it’s been years since she’s seen the little guy. Who knows if we’re even gonna come across him!”

Pyre stuffed some more items before whispering once more, “It’ll be my first time on the Star catcher! Honestly I’m a bit nervous, they’re like all a bunch of hotshots and like the Doc’s got a reason to go… I’m just her apprentice.” She muses about her situation, she doesn’t mind becoming a researcher, but she’s not sure she’s going to stay a critter researcher really. The candle noodle bid the charm farewell and turned on her feet to leave. She nearly made her way through the door as something tugged within her to bring the Charm along with her.

She sighed and turned back, grabbing it and hanging it around her neck. Just in case she thought, as she made her way back down the crypt. “Pyre!” Cassie smiled as Pyre showed her face to the main area. “Hiya Doc. Got everything?” Marjani rose a brow as she looked at the shard around Pyre’s neck. “Kid you bringing that thing along?” Pyre nodded in response. “Yep! Just in case we meet the Ruptour that lost it!” Marjani laughed and nodded, “Mm! Surely they’ll thank you for it kid, but there’s barely any Ruptour around these parts!”

Pyre gave a soft smile before shrugging anyways, “There’s always a chance Marj!” She nodded. Tiana interrupted the conversation with an excited squeal. “Did you bring the basket?”

“Yes Chef!” Pyre then saluted in response before handing over the basket requested, smiling from ear to ear. “Is most of this for them or do we get a piece?” She joked, causing Tiana to shake her head, “No not for you. Well, I do have food for you guys, but most of them are for the young ones,” Tiana quietly smiled to herself, “And on the request of the Good Doctor, I also have some for the critters we may pick up along the way.”

“I knew she couldn’t help herself!” Pyre interjected.

“Knew who couldn’t help herself?” Cassie, returning from the gardens, asked. She knew they were talking about her, most of the time nowadays they were speaking about her! Well, how can one not? They found out about what started the whole Crypt, the rescue, and research! Cometfall is almost over and they have yet to see Nyx or any comyt. Which was odd given their success last year with the Sqovets.

“Quickly, Quickly! We gotta go! We’re going to be late!” Cassie began ushering everyone out so quickly. It was noon, Cassie wanted their trip to happen as evening Comets graced the skies. The critter and Crew began scrambling out, racing over to the landing where the Star Catcher was currently stationed out. Cassie looked over to Marjani, shouting over their running. “Did you get the Tickets?”

“Yep!” Marjani showed Cassie the tickets before smiling at her, “Don’t worry Cassie, all will be fine!” The Lumendra gave a thumbs up as they raced down the paved streets. They weren’t really late, Cassie just wanted to be first, she was always a punctual person anyways.

They gently placed their stuff down, spreading their tickets amongst each other as one of the Star Catchers began hauling their items on board. Cassie rushed over to Astra, handing her ticket and practically mimicking Pyre’s own hopping on the ship, saving them a spot as they slowly got on. She took the side of the setting sun and wistfully wondered if in the last few days, will she ever see Nyx again.

She was shaken out of her thoughts as Marjani placed a paw on her shoulder. A smile was given as she looked back before turning back as they began ascending. She was excited more than ever, they were taking the skies and flying alongside comets! With a potential of being able to capture an intact Comet star! Oh how exciting!

It was exciting really! Grabbing a notebook and drawing out the comets whizzing past them. She saw one come insanely close, she swore she could reach out to grab one. An intact star! This will do wonders for the researchers! Just a bit closer, her claws barely grazing against the flaming star. But before she could grab it, a group of stars whooshes past them with such speed, it was almost frightening.

Cassie pulls back with a gasp, watching the 5 comets whisked past, slowly sinking down. Cassie frowned in thought watching them sink lower and lower towards the before seeing their descent towards the lakes below. Suddenly the Researcher gets hit with a sense of deja vu. She squints before realizing she’s been here before. This was where she watched all those Comets years ago, this is where she had her first cometfall, this is where she met Nyx. And those 5 comets were heading straight for the lake she found Nyx in.

“Descend! Descend!” Cassie commanded, confused but willing to oblige, the Star Catcher descended, the ship landed in a valley nearby. With that, Cassie ran towards the pond, the rest of the Crypt Crew following in pursuit. “Cassie! Cassie, wait up!”

“Doc!”

“Dr. Cassiopeia!”

Cassie ignored the cries as she continued running out towards the lake, her lungs burning. Surely this was it. It had to be right? Too bad their journey with the Star Catcher came to its end so quick. But Cassie has more important things to do, like follow the light.
