doodlin the heroes

After Duskie has done the impossible- had drawn an armless creature punching Straybow in the face- he looks down upon his chalk art masterpiece and beams.

"'Don't expect so much from Duskie' if he can't slap some arms on a demon head then that's a him problem!"

"... This is not accurate to Decimus. Decimus would-"

I wanna draw the heroes now! I wanna draw the guy you named me after!

"Sure, here's what Sundown looks like." Knight mentally beams an image of a guy in a large orange poncho with some sort of white zigzag at the top of it and fawn hair, alongside an obvious beard and a white shirt underneath the poncho. "His eyes are this stupidly pale blue, by the way."

Yayyy! Duskie pulls out a pink stick of chalk and gets to work, drawing Sundown first and then a little humanoid version of himself.

"... No, Duskie, Sundown is not your dad."

He could be. If he wanted to.

"Is that why human you is a cowboy?"

Yeehaw! I'm Smokin' Skie! Duskie beams.

"Draw Cube next!" Cube is... round! And grey! And tiny! And doesn't have arms or feet! "*loud incorrect buzzer* they have arms"

"Knight- what was that sound you just made?"

"*loud incorrect buzzer*?"

"You are not copying Tadokoro. I forbid it."

"*loud incorrect buzzer* it was funny when he did it and its funny when i do it."

While Duskie's brothers bicker, Duskie draws Cube. And then draws another Cube! And then peppers the sidewalk with little Cubes all over, dancing and moving around in a pastel rainbow of colors- one green, one red, one pink, another green...

"*loud incorrect buzzer*" Knight goes when Duskie tries to write dialogue for Cube. "Cube doesn't speak, they just warble."

'Warbllllllll' Duskie writes instead.

"*loud correct buzzer, which is just loud incorrect buzzer but higher in pitch*"

"Knight. That is not how that works."

"Draw Oboro next."

Lavender hair- almost white (Not that it mattered- Duskie didn't color in any of these drawings, anyways!). Spiky like his brothers' own. A ninja wearing all black!

Duskie gets to work, drawing Oboromaru wielding a katana and glaring at the viewer in red chalk. He colors in Oboro's eyes with a sky blue piece of chalk.

"Draw him squiggly. He needs to know his place."

Duskie draws Oboromaru laying as flat as a board with a (0-0) face with that same sky blue chalk.

"That is not squiggly, but that is something that'd get us exploded by him if he ever were to see it. Good job."

Duskie beams. Thank you! Now... what does Akira look like?

Drawing out the usage of the sound Knight used to convey incorrectness is way easier said than done.

Repeat that for me!

"*loud incorrect buzzer*"

Nope, I still don't get it.

"It's not something that can be written! Just write him yelling 'YOU'RE WRONG!' and that'll be good enough."

Alright! Duskie draws Akira yelling with a >0< on his face, before moving to draw...

"... Duskfall. I do not believe-"

Duskie sketches out and draws himself behind them- an additional ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ waltzing around the place! He giggles, and Knight joins in. Drawing is fun!
