more shrooms!

We should plan mushrooms in the communal garden! Duskie thought, grabbing a shovel and running towards a nearby forest.

"What's wrong with you!?" Knight yelled, but Duskie pretended not to hear him. "I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME, I'M IN YOUR BRAIN!"

Duskie whistled cutely through the shovel as he ran about in the forest, looking for a patch of nearby mushrooms he could maybe dig up and plant into the communal garden.

They had just learnt of said garden about five minutes ago and had no idea if mushrooms were even allowed or not, but that didn't stop Duskie from running in, shovel at the ready.

"Baa?" One of those strange little critters from the hot air balloon ride baa'd at him, walking towards him and sniffing the air. 

"Duskie, those things have names. They're called sqovets." Knight said. "Odio stopped by the library later. Luckily for you, they're tamable."

... They were tamable? Quick, Duskie needed something to feed it!

Quickly, he sliced off of a piece of mushroom with his tail and shot it towards the sqovet, causing it to flinch and step back.

"Wait!" Duskie yelled, dropping the shovel. "Wait, I didn't mean to harm you- I just meant to give you food!"

The sqovet paused, before stepping towards him.

"There, there..." Duskie smiled. "There, there... just come towards me..."

The sqovet nuzzled Duskie's cheek, and Duskie purred.

There we go! Now we just need a name for them! I know- Mushroom!

"No."

Brushroom? Felix? Something that's a good name I can call it?

Duskie then realized he did not have a good enough name for this thing.

After having used his tail to slice off the mushrooms he found, Duskie brought them to the communal garden, his trusty but still unnamed sqovet trailing behind him as he did so.

Maybe we could name them after someone we knew from before? Duskie asked.

"... Knight, I know what name you wish for the beast, and I expressly veto it-"

Duskie looked around for an empty plot for the mushrooms as his brothers talked.

"Fine, but only because of the memories it'd bring up every time we looked at the little thing..."

There! Duskie ran towards the plot, shovel in mouth, and dug a hole. He tossed the mushrooms inside and patted the hole flat, and- like magic- the mushrooms sprouted at once! He beamed pridefully at his deed.

"That... that is not how growing things work. At all."

You don't know that! Duskie said, running around for a new plot to plant some more mushrooms in. His sqovet trotted behind him, somewhat out of breath from pushing itself.

"Slow down! You're gonna kill our pet before we even name it..."

Duskie paused and turned behind him to see his sqovet collapse, out of breath. He dropped his shovel and scooped the little guy up on his back. "Sorry." Duskie said. "You have such tiny little legs, I should have been more careful..."

The sqovet bleated, and Duskie felt... forgiven.

He grabbed the shovel and went back to work, planting mushrooms around the garden, and expressing shock and surprise when the rest didn't pop up like the first one did.

"SEE! I told you that wasn't normal!"
